‘Enter The Panchaku’ update for ‘Dead Cells’ introduces a frying pan

Motion Twin has confirmed the details of its 30th update, the roguelike dungeon crawler Dead Cells, in which Enter The Panchaku introduces new weapons, new ways to interact with the outside world, and some balance fixes.
Now available on PC and coming soon to consoles, Enter The Panchaku will feature a new weapon, the Panchaku. This weapon is two frying pans and a rope that can deflect bombs and arrows and can also be used for offensive attacks.
According to the patch notes, legendary weapons “now only scale based on your highest stat. Basically it’s too powerful, rather illogical (you have to separate the stats, and in non-legendary situations you have to do the opposite) and not very interesting (Just add more damage to your damage).”
They also created a new custom mode option (Legendary only) that “turns all weapons found on the run into legendary weapons”.
Enter The Panchaku also brings two new outfits to Dead Cells. Bobby’s costume is inspired by the design of the decapitation in the Dead Cells trailer, including a burning head, while the new Knight costume is inspired by the Soul Knight character of the same name.
The latest #deadcells update is out now on PC and coming to consoles soon! Wield a deadly panchaka, equip new Bobby skins, unlock new legendary affixes, play as a soul knight, and pet your pets! On top of that, we’ve also redesigned some of the weapons to balance out the item pool. pic.twitter.com/KYEkio5Fmb
Later this year, Dead Cells will add a Boss Rush area where players will fight back to back against all the bosses they saw before the winter update.
“Going to 2023, we are not going to slow down,” the team said in July. “In fact, we will be more active! This will be our most important year since the release of 1.0 and we’re excited to show you what we’re doing behind the scenes.”
“What we have here is that we are in the middle of dead cells. We are not going to sneak out at night and get drunk on street corners anymore, but we have a lot of life left before our knees start to give, so please do it more often.Be prepared for more dead cells.”
In other news, Ubisoft Beyond Good and Evil 2 has a new lead writer (Sarah Arellano) 15 years into development.
