Record-breaking red deer fish roll up to the pan tower

WILMINGTON, North Carolina (WWAY) — Earlier this month, a local resident made significant strides in what has now become a new state record.
On August 6, Jared Lambert of Wilmington pulled a 7 lb 11.2 oz redtail near the frying pan tower.
The previous state record for Red Hind was a 7-pound, 1.6-ounce catch at Cape Lookout in 2021, according to the North Carolina Department of Marine Fisheries.
Lambert’s record fish measures 23.06 inches from the tip of the snout to the tip of the compressed tail with a circumference of 23 inches.
